Renovation
Keep the shell. Change everything you see.
In section
What sits under the waterline.
- Coping
- Cut limestone or travertine, eased edge, 12 or 16 in
- Waterline tile
- Porcelain or glass, 6 in band
- Interior finish
- Pebble or quartz aggregate in white, gray or midnight
- Decking
- Travertine pavers or cool-toned concrete
- Equipment
- Variable-speed pump, cartridge filter, automation on your phone
Most older pools in our towns have a sound gunite shell under a tired finish. A renovation replaces the plaster, the waterline tile and the coping, and often adds a sun shelf or a spa.
Equipment
Variable-speed pumps, cartridge filters and automation on your phone use less power and less water than the equipment most pools were built with.
